Alan Abramson is the Senior Vice President of information services and Chief Information Officer at HealthPartners. In his duties here, Mr. Abramson has lead responsibility for the information systems across the HealthPartners enterprise.


Mr. Abramson comes to our organization after 16 years at Allina Health System in Minneapolis, where he served most recently as the Vice President of information services and Manager of the Year 2000 effort.


Mr. Abramson graduated cum laude from Wheaton College in Illinois, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota - concentration in computer applications and decision science.


Alan has served as an advisor or board member to numerous regional and national organizations for healthcare systems innovation and improvement, including CHIME, HIMSS, Scottsdale Institute, Minnesota e-Health Steering Committee, RX2000 Institue and the Metropolitan Health Board of Minnesota.  He co-chairs the Minnesota eHIT Techology and Standards Workgroup. He is past Board President of the American Lung Association of Minnesota and currently serves as the Minnesota representative to the National Council of the American Lung Association, and chairs the Board Strategic Planning Committee.
